Quality in Teacher Education
The TEPE Network was formally established at its inaugural meeting at Tallinn University in February 2007 with an overarching aim to develop Teacher Education (TE) policy recommendations at institutional, national and European level. The recommendations from the TEPE 2008 Conference that was held at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Education were well received by colleagues and policy makers across Europe at a national, local and European level. These recommendations and papers arising from the conference are published in Teacher Education Policy in Europe: A Voice of Higher Education Institutions.
The conference will aim to address the central goals of the TEPE Network which relate to:
- Advancing research in and on Teacher Education
- Increasing mobility and extending the European Dimension in Teacher Education
- Enhancing quality through the renewal of evaluation cultures in Teacher Education
It will involve Working Groups organised around the following themes:
- Initial Teacher Education
- Induction to the Profession
- Continuing Professional Development
- Post Graduate Studies in and on Teacher Education
