Tasks for week 11 (12th - 18th of May)
What to expect from this week?
According to the schedule in Moodle we should be at the final stage of our prototype courses. We have designed a course in groups: we have found the topic of the course, we have created the learning environment, where the course is going to take place, we have provided some content as an example that is going to be in our course, we have come up with the tasks and assignments, we have defined the ways how we are going to evaluate our students in this course.
Now we should let the others to tell their opinion about our course design. Perhaps they have some ideas, thoughts, constructive feedback. But in order to let other groups to evaluate our course design we should think of what we want them to evaluate e.g. criteria that they are going to take into account while evaluating our course design. Formative evaluations can be in essay format or we can develop a small online questionnaire using Doodle or …. it’s up to us what kind of feedback and how we expect from others.
Thus, first task in groups is to create an evaluation plan for our course. As we all have done an individual task about the good course criteria (remember?) it should be easy to come up with the evaluation plan. Take a look at the criteria and voting system as examplea in Moodle under the assessment part.
Second task for this week is to present our course prototype with evaluation plan to other groups. Therefore, we (as a group) should leave the links of our course prototype as comments to this post. In this way we can collect all the prototypes of courses and have access to them. In addition we should also indicate, where to find our evaluation plan. If we want particular persons to evaluate our course we should also mention this.
Evaluation should be done individually (every student should choose at least one course to evaluate), however group evaluation is acceptable. Deadline for sending our opinions and feedback about other courses is 23rd of May. But by the end of this week (18th of May) we should have all the course prototypes advertised here as comments of this post with evaluation plan.
Besides of the group activities we also have to reflect on course readings in our personal blogs: How to formatively evaluate e-learning course designs? and on our learning experiences according to the reflection template.
Looking forward to see your prototypes of courses.
